A Saturday brush fire in Kona burned an acre of grassland, but didn’t damage any developed property, according to Fire Department officials.
According to a written statement, six units responded to the alarm at 3:38 p.m., with the first unit arriving on-scene on the Kohala side of Honokohau Street seven minutes later.
The fire, which was next to a granite and construction fabrication facility, was reportedly extinguished by 4:50 p.m. No one was injured.
